Why We Built This

Solo Media blocks distractions, but we realized users wanted to see the impact. How much time are you actually saving? Which days are hardest? What patterns emerge over weeks?

Today we're launching the Analytics Dashboard—a simple way to track your progress and stay motivated.

What's Included

Time Saved

Every time Solo Media blocks distracting content and you close the tab or navigate away, we estimate the time you would have spent scrolling. The dashboard shows:

  • Total hours saved this week
  • Average daily savings
  • Your all-time total since installing

Most users save 5-10 hours per week once they adjust to intentional usage. That's a full workday back in your life.

Block Encounters

See how many times you encountered blocked content and what you did:

  • Times you closed the tab immediately
  • Times you paused blocking to access content
  • Most common platforms where you hit blocks

This data reveals your habit patterns. Maybe you're great at avoiding YouTube distractions but struggle with Instagram. Now you know where to focus.

Focus Streaks

Track consecutive days you've used Solo Media without disabling it. Streaks are surprisingly motivating—once you hit 7 days, you won't want to break the chain.

Weekly Trends

A visual graph showing your daily activity over the past week. See which days you struggle most (often Sunday evenings or Friday afternoons) and adjust your schedule or nudges accordingly.

Platform Breakdown

Which social media platforms consume most of your attention? The dashboard breaks down your usage by platform:

  • YouTube
  • Instagram
  • Twitter / X
  • Reddit
  • TikTok
  • Others

How to Access Your Dashboard

Click the Solo Media icon in your browser toolbar and select "Analytics" from the menu.

Free users can see the last 30 days of data. Pro users get 1 year of history and the ability to export data as CSV.

Privacy First

All analytics data stays on your device by default. Solo Media never sees what you browse or which specific content you view.

If you enable cloud sync (Pro feature), we only store anonymized aggregate data—never URLs, never browsing history, never personal information.

What Users Are Seeing

Early beta testers shared some eye-opening stats:

  • "I'm saving 90 minutes a day. That's 10.5 hours a week. I had no idea."
  • "My struggle days are always Wednesday and Sunday. Now I know to set stricter boundaries on those days."
  • "Seeing my 14-day streak made me realize this actually works. I'm not going back."

Export Your Data

Pro users can export their analytics as CSV files. Use this to:

  • Create custom visualizations in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Track progress over months or years
  • Share your journey (many users post their time-saved stats)

What's Next

This is version 1 of the analytics dashboard. We're already working on v2 features based on user feedback:

  • Hour-by-hour breakdown (see when you're most vulnerable)
  • Comparison views (this week vs last week)
  • Goal setting (set a target for daily social media time)
  • Insights and recommendations based on your patterns

Start Tracking Today

If you're already using Solo Media, your analytics are ready to view right now. If you haven't installed it yet, your first week of data will be the most revealing.

Most people underestimate their social media usage by 50% or more. The analytics don't lie—and seeing the numbers is often the wake-up call needed to take the problem seriously.

Check your dashboard and let us know what you discover.
